Stargate SG-1

Stargate SG-1, SG1 for short, is a science-fiction series that debuted on the channel Showtime in 1997. It moved to the Sci Fi channel in its sixth year and stayed until the end of the series in its tenth year.

SG1 picked up the plot of the 1994 Stargate movie and built up upon it. In the series, the universe is connected by huge, ring-shaped devices called star gates. But of course, the universe is not exactly a nice place to be; a race of parasitic worms with delusion of grandeur, the Go'auld, is enslaving planets for their own benefits. When they see that Earth's gate is active again, and Earth'S inhabitants killed a Go'auld Lord, they swear to crush the puny worms trying to stand up against their godly selves.

Later on, the Ori take the Go'aulds' place as main villains of the series. They, too, intend to crush the heathens that don't bow down before them, the notable difference being that where the Go'aulds had scavenged technology to pass as gods, the Ori truly have, as ascended beings, godly powers, making them that much more dangerous.

Daniel Jackson

Daniel Jackson is one of the Seven Wonders of the Universe. The man has a PhD in archeology, anthropology, and linguistics, speaks over 23 languages, has died and come back a number of times, ascended twice, saved the universe countless times, and all this while turning from hot geek to hot and beefy geek. Clearly, the man is nothing short of a god. The good kind of god.
